Annual Dinner 2009

May 7, 2009 - White Plains, NY.

The 20th Annual Dinner Event, held on May 7th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, recorded a large turnout. Politicians, civic leaders, and historic minded citizens gathered to celebrate our past, present and future. In attendance were Westchester County Legislator Bill Ryan, Assemblyman Adam Bradley, and several White Plains Common Council members.

The Citizen Extraordinaire Award was conferred to Stephen Holden, III. A considerable contingent of family and friends were present to witness this proud moment. Former President Robert Friedman made the introduction and presentation.

An honor guard comprised of Revolutionary War re-enactors carried in the flag. President Robert Hoch presided.

The invocation was given by Father Gawain deLeeuw of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. Musical performance was given by Suzanne Hoch. The benediction was given by Rev. Patricia Gillman of Mt. Hope Zion Church.

Trustee Beth Roach presented the Nominating Committee's report for officers and trustees, which was unanimously accepted.

The guest speaker was Thomas J. Craughwell, a writer who gave an enjoyable talk entitled “Deflating Those Tall Tales About Lincoln.” Table centerpieces were provided by Amodio's Garden Center, Nursery and Flowershop.
