The White Plains Historical Society

286th Washington's Birthday Celebration

February 25, 2018 - White Plains, NY.

A small crowd gathered outside the Jacob Purdy House on a cold and rainy afternoon to celebrate George Washington's 286th Birthday at his onetime headquarters in White Plains during the Revolutionary War.

President Vorperian acknowledged local politicians County Executive George Latimer, State Assemblyman David Buchwald, Mayor Tom Roach, and member of the Common Council Milagros Lecuona. President Vorperian thanked Historical Society Trustees and Members, White Plains Citizens and everyone else for attending.

Our speaker was Richard Forliano, Eastchester Town Historian. His topic was "George Washington in Westchester County".

Admission was free.
